김현섭

서울대학교 철학과 부교수

서울대학교 철학과에서 부교수로 윤리학을 가르치고 있으며, 같은 대학 정치-경제-철학 연계전공 운영에도 활발히 참여하고 있다. 서울대학교 법학과를 졸업하고, 같은 대학 철학과에서 석사학위를, 미국 뉴욕대 철학과에서 박사학위를 받았으며, 미국 스탠포드대 사회윤리학 센터에서 박사 후 과정을 거쳤다. 사법연수원을 수료하고 군법무관 및 판사를 역임하였으며, 미국 뉴욕대 법대의 고전적 자유주의 센터를 방문한 바 있다. 윤리학, 정치철학, 법철학을 폭넓게 연구하고자 하며, 미래세대에 대한 도덕적 의무, 롤즈의 <만민법>과 기후변화의 정치철학 등에 대한 논문을 Philosophical Studies, Political Theory, International Theory를 비롯한 학술지에 발표하였다. 최근에는 헌정주의와 민주주의, 재산권과 조세정의, 시장과 분업의 윤리학적·정치철학적 함의 등에 대해 연구하고 있다.

Hyunseop Kim is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at Seoul National University, where he teaches ethics and serves as an active member in running its Philosophy-Politics-Economics program. He holds a Bachelor of Law and a M.A. in philosophy from Seoul National University. He received a Ph.D. in philosophy from New York University and was a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Center for Ethics in Society at Stanford University. He served as a Judge at the Seoul Eastern District Court and as a Judge Advocate in the Republic of Korea Army, and visited the Classical Liberal Institute at NYU school of law. His primary areas of research are moral, political and legal philosophy. His recent publications appeared in, among others, Philosophical Studies, Political Theory and International Theory. He is recently working on the ethical foundations of market economy, property rights and tax justice, and constitutionalism and democracy.
